Canvas Print
A canvas print is an image printed directly onto woven canvas fabric, then stretched over a wooden frame to mimic the look of a painting.
Canvas prints use pigment inks printed onto a poly-cotton or 100% cotton woven substrate, then stretched and stapled over a hardwood stretcher bar. The result has visible weave texture and looks more like a painting than a photograph.
Canvas is well-suited to work that mimics traditional painting — oil-portrait styles, impressionist landscapes, abstract color fields. It's less well-suited to photography or high-detail illustration, where the weave texture competes with fine detail.
Because the canvas is mounted on its own frame, it doesn't require a separate picture frame or glazing, making it a lower-maintenance wall option. The tradeoff is less protection against dust and UV compared to a framed giclée behind glass.
